Pear Crisp
This one takes more than 30 minutes but is worth the extra time. It can easily be done with *sub your favorite fruit here.* I always make these with a riff on a shortbread cookie for the crust. My favorite trick to make these just a little bit healthier is to use really ripe fruit because then you donโt need to add any sugar to the fruit.
Pear Crisp
Serves 6-8
Ingredients
- 6 very ripe pears, chopped
- 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon, optional
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Spread chopped pears evenly in oven safe baking dish. Should be no more than a few pieces deep.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter. Mix in oats.
- Spread oat topping evenly over pears.
- Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until top is golden and edges are bubbling.
