Fennel Prosciutto Pizza
This twist on pizza is a hit with the whole family and sneaks in some veggies! Keep it simple using store bought dough, or make a few batches and keep some frozen. You can find fresh pizza dough in the refrigerated prepared section of many grocery stores.
Fennel Prosciutto Pizza
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 batch fresh pizza dough, set at room temp for 30 minutes
- 1/4 c. flour for rolling, approximate
- 1-2 tbsp cornmeal
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- salt, to taste
- 1/2 c. shredded Italian cheese blend
- 4 oz. fresh ricotta
- 1/2 fennel bulb, sliced thin
- 4 oz prosciutto
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450F
- Roll out or pull pizza dough to fit your pan, using flour to keep the dough from sticking to your hands and countertop
- Sprinkle cormeal evenly over pizza pan and transfer shaped dough to prepared pan
- Brush dough with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese and fennel, dollop ricotta and place pieces of prosciutto evenly around crust
- Bake for 8-12 minutes, until pizza is golden brown
