Fennel Prosciutto Pizza

This twist on pizza is a hit with the whole family and sneaks in some veggies! Keep it simple using store bought dough, or make a few batches and keep some frozen. You can find fresh pizza dough in the refrigerated prepared section of many grocery stores.

Fennel Prosciutto Pizza

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 batch fresh pizza dough, set at room temp for 30 minutes
  • 1/4 c. flour for rolling, approximate
  • 1-2 tbsp cornmeal
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt, to taste
  • 1/2 c. shredded Italian cheese blend
  • 4 oz. fresh ricotta
  • 1/2 fennel bulb, sliced thin
  • 4 oz prosciutto

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450F
  2. Roll out or pull pizza dough to fit your pan, using flour to keep the dough from sticking to your hands and countertop
  3. Sprinkle cormeal evenly over pizza pan and transfer shaped dough to prepared pan
  4. Brush dough with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt
  5. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and fennel, dollop ricotta and place pieces of prosciutto evenly around crust
  6. Bake for 8-12 minutes, until pizza is golden brown
