Orange Bourbon Cranberry Sauce
If you haven’t made cranberry sauce from scratch before, this is your year! It’s so easy and so pretty. This one uses bourbon, but you could easily sub water for the alcohol and cook with a cinnamon stick or a rosemary twig (we’ve done both in the past!) for some extra flavor.
Orange Bourbon Cranberry Sauce
Serves 6-8
Ingredients
- 10oz cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 1/4 c. bourbon
- 1/2 - 3/4 c. maple syrup (to taste)
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Bring all ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. (Use a bigger sauce pan than you think you need. Sugar boils high.)
- Reduce heat to simmer, and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Taste and add additional maple syrup if desired. Can be premade and refrigerated for several days.
